MJ #163: Year End Preview, 2009

Peer into the future with Luke, Craig and Susan as they gaze into their cinematic crystal ball. Well, maybe not a crystal ball exactly, but we will be discussing which of 2009's fall and winter films we're most anticipating. Which films do Craig and Luke agree on, and since when did they start agreeing on anything? Which film that Susan scoffs at for being "stupid" will end up on Luke's list? Why is Craig so worried that you'll forget the title of this episode? Find out what it takes for Susan to give an Apocalypse movie a chance. From Aliens and Apocalypse, from Viggo to Vaughn, we're covering movies from October on. Join us, won't you?

I think I've figured out the problem and have pinged iTunes. If everything is working correctly, assuming iTunes updates after the ping it should be available in a few hours or tomorrow morning. I apologize for the issue.

You can now listen to it on Movie Junkie Online so it should be available in iTunes by the morning as I mentioned. There was a problem with the feed.

I am so disappointing that you picked 2012 on your top 5. They posted a 5 minute clip of this film on Youtube a few weeks ago and I honestly couldn't finish watching the clip. This movie will SUCK. Guaranteed. I will be surprised if it gets more than 10% on RT.

Luke
You gotta see Boondock Saints!!! Seriously. Its on You Tube.

Susan
I'm really glad you mentioned Shutter Island. I was looking forward to watching that ever since I saw the trailer back in June and then for some reason they delayed it from October to February. This would have been perfect for Halloween.

Here is my top 5 for the year end of 2009....
1. Avatar (I'm curious what will this film gross) $300M? $400M? More?
2. The Lovely Bones
3. Boondock Saints II
4. Brothers
5. The Road

HM
1. New York, I Love You
2. A Christmas Carol
3. Pirate Radio
4. Amelia
5. Capitalism: A Love Story

Aha, remember it's the films I'm most looking forward to not the best or even most interesting (in regards to 2012). The summer of Independence Day it was the same thing: I couldn't wait to see how the director was going to present the images. I absolutely love great CGI (and animation) and bought the best computer I could find to take advantage of absolutely incredible graphics and cannot wait for 2012 for that reason.

The film probably will not be awesome but I predict the cgi will, but it does have John Cusack and great shots of the world falling apart and that's what I'm looking forward to, not a great film. It's those types of films you need to see before everyone else so you can oo and ah...the others you can see anytime. Sorry if your "disappointed" but it's the graphics dude, get it? *laughing out loud* Turn off the sound and it will still be awesome.
