Inglourious Basterds, Precious, Up in the Air, Dexter and 30 Rock Lead SAG Nominations

The 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) were announced on Thursday, with a few surprises.

George Clooney's Up in the Air, which just received a Golden Globe nomination for best picture, was snubbed by SAG in the best ensemble category. Inglourious Basterds, Precious and Up in the Air earned the most nominations, with three a piece. Newcomer Gabourey Sidibe will be competing in the lead actress category for her role in Precious against Sandra Bullock, Carey Mulligan, Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren.

Showtime's Dexter continues to chop up the nominations. It received three, tieing NBC's 30 Rock and TNT's The Closer. The buzz of comedy newcomers Glee and Modern Family seem to have dampered voters love for The Big Bang Theory as it was shut out of the ensemble comedy series category. Toni Collette, who won the Emmy for best actress in a comedy series for her role in United States of Tara will be going up against Edie Falco, Tina Fey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Christina Applegate, who received a nomination for her role in the now canceled Samantha Who?.

I am thrilled with all the acclaim that "The Hurt Locker" is getting, maybe its because hubby was EOD in Iraq but the movie is so good, and I love Indie movies

My biggest peeve is that Katey Segal was passed over for her work on Sons of Anarchy, as well as SOA not being nominated for best show.  KS performance this past season was above reproach, she was simply amazing in her role of Gemma.

I'm surprised that Diane Kruger from Inglorious Basterds was nominated....I would have rather picked Melanie Laurent who played Shosanna in IB.  Then again I would give DK and award based on how beautiful she is.

I really really hope that Curb Your Enthusiasm wins some awards.  This season was just fantastic.
