Sherlock Holmes (2.5 out of 5)

I know that there has been a ton of movies about Sherlock Holmes but believe it or not I've not seen even one before this reincation.  I had seen many trailer for it for months and months but I never really got excited about the movie but I do like pretty much eveyone in it and the Guy Ritchie who has done some of my favorite movies of all time (Lock Stocks and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch).

In this version Sherlock and his assistant and best friend Dr. Watson are trying to capture a serial killer known as Lord Blackwood played by Mark Strong.  

I think since Robert Downey Jr. was play Sherlock I expected the movie to be much funnier than it was and I expected Rachel McAdams who plays Irene Adler to have a bigger role in the film.  I guess those are my biggest cons against this film.  I loved Jude Law as Dr. Watson and though that Mark Strong was also pretty good as Lord Blackwood. 

I think this might be one of those movies that after second viewing I will like it more but for now I would have to give it a 2.5/5.
