Staff Sergeant Will Montgomery (Ben Foster) returns from a tour in Iraq and he is assigned to the Army's Casualty Notification service and is partnered with Tony Stone (Woody Harrelson).  After he gives the news to Olivia (Samantha Morton) that her husband has passed away in battle, Will's emotional detactment begins to fade. 
Will is like a doctor who cannot see a patient as a patient but sees them as a person and Tony (Harrelson) is a veteran who tries to teach him that he has to keep a distant with the people and cannot get attached to them or it will be impossible to do his job. 

This movie is a downer but it is still very very good.  I highly recommened it.  I got lucky and caught it at the dollar theater here and I dont even know if its in wide release any more.  So if you cant find it in theaters make sure to check it out on dvd because it will be worth it.
