Legion: Misleading Title, Great Action

Though very much a challenge of humanity’s understanding of God, Legion is a good action film. Starring Paul Bettany (A Knight’s Tale) in a brilliant performance as the angel Michael. With Dennis Quaid, Tyrese Gibson, Charles Dutton and Lucas Black as mostly supporting cast members, Legion manages to both thrill and challenge while never really reaching its promise.

Paul Bettany is the Archangel Michael, instructed by God to destroy the unborn child destined to lead the world out of darkness, a darkness so profound that even God has lost faith. Michael refuses and takes up arms; his only purpose to find the child and defend him against the armies of heaven. Oddly, the armies of heaven consist of hordes of malformed demon-like angels, think George Romero only more attractive, and the angels are easily destroyed by heavy weaponry. READ MORE

Legion's New Trailer, Action Junkies Unite!

"My name is 'Legion:' for we are many," and that looks to be a great way to introduce Legion, the latest horror action flick from Screen Gems. This film was made for the 'Legions' of action junkies out here waiting for our latest fix. The trailer looks pretty good, the story elements well thought out and the plot, though derivative, quite good. With good CGI and decent direction by Scott Stewart Legion could be a winner. I'm reserving judgment, so see it at your own risk January 22, 2010. READ MORE

We first brought you the first promotional pictures of the new Sony Pictures film Legion arriving to theaters January 22, 2010. The film stars Paul Bettany as archangel Michael, the only one standing between mankind and an apocalypse, after God loses faith in humanity. Man's lone hope rests with a group of strangers who must deliver a baby they realize is Christ in his second coming.

New Legion Promotional Poster



Sony Pictures has updated its website for the new Paul Bettany flick Legion. When God loses faith in mankind, he sends his legions of angels to bring on the Apocalypse. Humanity's only hope lies with a group of strangers trapped in a desert diner with the Archangel Michael (Bettany). The film also features Dennis Quaid, Kate Walsh, and Kevin Durand.  This movie arrives in theaters January 22, 2010.
