The two evening's eventual winners were joined on the red carpet by some of film's newest starlets Kristen Stewart, Amanda Seyfried and Miley Cyrus and veterans Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet, Sigourney Weaver and Demi Moore. Morgan and Smith, Jr. were in the company of Gabourey Sidibe who won Best Lead Actress for Precious and Shonda Rimes, who won for Best Writing in Drama Series for Grey's Anatomy. German Soap Verbotene Liebe's Christian and Olli Set for U.S. Adaptation

The forbidden love of Christian and Olli, from German sudser Verbotene Liebe is coming to America. According to The Hollywood Reporter,  former HBO vice-president Sam Martin has secured the rights to the storyline revolving around a gay couple in Dusseldorf. Martin plans to Americanize Christian and Olli  with a setting in Portland, Oregon. James Franco on GH Script: "As Thick as a Film Script"

Film star James Franco talks with NY Mag about his upcoming stint on General Hospital and compares it working in movies.

But why a soap opera at all?

Well ... I've got other ideas for my participation in this soap opera beyond just being in this soap opera. But it's been a blast so far. It was kind of mind-blowing. I've worked one day on it. It's one day of a few. But I think we packed seven episodes of my material in. They gave me a script for the day that was as thick as a film script and that's what we planned to shoot in a single day. No ad-libbing. If I needed it, they said they had a TelePrompTer, but the regulars didn't use it so I didn't want to use it, either. Anyway, I'm pretty good at remembering lines.

James Franco Goes From Port Chuck to 30 Rock

Continuing to prove he dances to the beat of his own iPod, James Franco will follow up his General Hospital run with a guest gig on Tina Fey's critically-acclaimed, NBC laffer 30 Rock. According to Michael Ausielo, Franco will play himself and get busy with Jenna, played by Jane Krakowski. After that, Franco will guest host MoNique's new BET talk show for a week. Okay, I'm kidding about the last part, but you never know with this one!

As Hollywood and the soap world react to the stunning news that movie star James Franco is coming to General Hospital, ABC has been ramping up expectations (and publicity) by dropping hints about Franco's upcoming role. In a blurb on EW.com, Jori Petersen teases:

"The only thing I can tell you about his character right now is he is playing a mysterious person who comes to Port Charles who will be Jason Morgan's worst nightmare."
